On March 1st, we celebrated our four-month anniversary of demolition work. As we have been removing ceilings, walls, carpet, fixtures, and many other things, it is truly like opening a time capsule! In this building's almost 100 years of operation, the space we will occupy has functioned as a grocery store, bank, data center, and printing operation. So many people have entered into that space; so many people have been served in that space.

We can't wait to continue the tradition of serving the community of Greensburg! It is so humbling to think that every piece of debris we remove, every dumpster we fill, is one step closer to capturing this space for the glory of God as we prepare to open our doors wide: to reach out to those who are searching, and to equip believers to be fully-devoted followers of Jesus!

Progress continues at Mid-Town, not only on the demolition of the church’s space, but with major improvement to the tenant space on the other end as well.  We are excited to update this entire historic building in downtown Greensburg - for the glory of God in every way!

As far as the “church’s space,” demolition of the ground level is 99% complete. Thank you volunteers!!  There is still work to be done on the sub-level, so we have a few more weeks of demo to cross the finish line. Please continue to join us in prayer at 4:50pm daily!

As we continue in the home stretch of demolition, our teams are taking great care to salvage and recycle as much material as possible. Here, you see just one of our tasks: removing ballast from overhead lighting fixtures so that we may salvage the metal casing. This effort not only helps us live into God's command to steward His creation, but also allows us to recapture thousands of dollars in scrap funds.

Please continue keeping the move to Midtown in prayer at 4:50pm each day, and if you would like more info on how to support, check the prompt at the bottom of this page!

The demolition of our future location not only continues, but is drawing to the close, with the help of so many wonderful people selflessly offering their time to prepare this space in service to the Lord.

The pictures here were taken from the same location (a viewpoint from our future lobby area!), two months apart - the first in November, the second this past week. All interior drywall is down, and you are able to view all of our approximately 15,000 square feet of space. You’re looking at a space where the people of Greensburg will be welcomed in; encouraged to worship with passion; have a place for their children to grow closer to Jesus; fan the flame of their discipleship in groups and journey classes. In short, it is a space where we will be able to reach out to more people who are searching, and to equip more people to be fully-devoted followers of Jesus.

As we approach the final stages of demolition, please continue to keep this effort in your prayers.  Consider setting an alarm for 4:50pm each day to join together with all of Charter Oak Church to thank God for this opportunity and that we continue walking forward in His provision.

Update || December 16, 2025

Over the past two weeks, skilled crews continue to work toward demolition inside the building. From the beginning of the project in mid-November, we have filled six 30-cubic-yard dumpsters with refuse. To put that into perspective, 1 dumpster holds the equivalent of approximately 180 32-gallon garbage bags (large home bags that you may use for outside work). That means 1,080 bags total!

If you spread out that material in a single line that was 6 inches by 6 inches, it would stretch back and forth from Mid-Town Plaza to Crossroads’ current location three and a half times!

We can’t thank our volunteer teams enough. If you have signed up to help but haven’t yet been called upon to serve inside the building, please know it’s because we have been blessed with a large amount of enthusiastic helpers. If you are still waiting to physically help, let me say two things. First, we will have plenty of opportunities to serve both inside and outside the building in the New Year. Second, you can join with our entire church family in the most important thing we could do: pray. Please set your alarm to pray at 4:50pm each day for God’s continued provision - as He guides us to continue preparing for our first worship service in Downtown Greensburg!

Update || December 3, 2025

In the past two weeks, select crews from across Charter Oak Church have joined together to begin the demolition process. We are so happy to share the progress with you. Even in this early stage of demo, these pictures represent many volunteer hours of work that is saving our church family significant financial resources.

Specifically, crews are starting with removing ceiling tile, insulation, and gridwork. We've filled four dumpsters thus far! Next, we'll be turning to removing walls, then carpet. Check back next time to view progress!
